Symptom Management Study Days (SMSDs)

The subject of the first SMSD was “Pain Management in Neurological Conditions” run as a pilot day in February 2010. The opening session, chaired by Baroness Professor Ilora Finlay, was a Q&A on ‘Personal Perception’ with two people, one with Charcot Marie Tooth Disease and the other with Ataxia. Delegates were very enthusiastic about this as they appreciated the personal approach “rather than being lectured to” as one delegate said. This is obviously something that could be repeated at future SMSDs. A full report of the day has been circulated to Alliance members.
